Lifeguard / Leisure Attendant

Casual zero contract basis

Job Summary: Our Lifeguards are essential in creating an enjoyable and accessible service for our customers which exceeds their expectations. You will welcome customers, provide supervision of pool activities, set up equipment/activities, assist with events and functions, ensure customers are using the facilities in a safe manner in line with our NOP/EAP and maintain clean and tidy facilities. Lifeguards are required attend monthly continual professional development training sessions.

The successful applicant must:

• Hold a current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification.
• Have a keen interest in sport and leisure and the desire to succeed within the leisure industry.
• Have exceptional standards of personal presentation.
• Possess outstanding customer service attributes.
• Be able to communicate with a wide range of people effectively at all levels.
• Be able to work in a busy environment.
• Be able to work as part of a team.
• Have a pleasant friendly personality.
• Have a flexible approach to work.

It would be beneficial, but not essential to:

• Have previous experience of working in a public or private sector leisure centre.
• Hold a current 3 day First Aid at Work qualification.
• Have cash handling experience.
• Pool plant operators training or certification.
• Hold relevant skills, in other leisure disciplines.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory DBS clearance and references.

Rate of pay & shift patterns:

• Hours: Casual zero hour contract basis.
• Shift Pattern: 06:30 - 22:30, early shifts, late shifts to include Public Holidays and Weekends on a rolling rota.
• Salary: £7.60-£9.50 per hour, subject to NLW.
