Fitness instructor

Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Job Summary: We’re looking for a fitness instructor who is energetic, confident, friendly and can keep our members motivated. You will welcome customers, provide inductions, fitness tests and tailor made fitness programs, ensure the equipment is safe to use and used safely, and maintain a clean and inviting atmosphere. You will work with other members of the team to deliver and develop retention schemes including creating monthly challenges.

The successful applicant must:

• Hold a minimum of Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification
• Hold a current group trianing qualification, ETM or equivalent.
• Be proactive and passionate with the ability to motivate others.
• Have a keen interest in sport and leisure and the desire to succeed within the leisure industry.
• Have exceptional standards of personal presentation.
• Possess outstanding customer service attributes.
• Be able to communicate with a wide range of people effectively at all levels.
• Be able to work in a busy environment.
• Have a pleasant friendly personality.
• Have a flexible approach to work.

It would be beneficial, but not essential to:

• Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
• Hold a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification or equivalent.
• Hold a current First Aid at Work qualification.
• Have cash handling experience.
• Have experience in a similar role.
• Hold relevant skills, in other leisure disciplines.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory DBS clearance and references.

Rate of pay & shift patterns:

• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7, 06:00 - 22:30, early shifts, late shifts to include Public Holidays and Weekends on a rolling rota.
• Salary: £7.60- £9.50 per hour subject to NLW
