Pool Timetable

Initially we will open our pool for adult only lane swimming. You will need to pre-book for all pool sessions. This is to ensure we don’t exceed capacity where social distancing can be achieved. It will also give you piece of mind that you won’t be turned away when you arrive.

Adult only lane swimming sessions: You must be able to swim 50 metres. These sessions are not suitable for weak or non-swimmers.

Members can book online up to 7 days in advance by visiting www.ohlc.co.uk/book.

Pay as you go swimmers will be able to book by ringing reception on 01706 716680 from Monday 11th August, up to 2 days in advance. Payment will be required on booking over the phone, unfortunately we won't be able to take any payments on site.

Why are pools closed?

Sometimes people have 'accidents' in swimming pools. This can include babies with poorly fitting nappies, excitable children who cannot wait to get to the toilet and people who feel unwell. These 'accidents' can result in pool closures that can take anything from 1 hour to 27 hours, depending on the type of 'accident' and level of cleaning needed. There is a possibility that somebody who has been unwell, including upset stomachs or diarrhoea, could bring in a bug called cryptosporidium.

Our supervising and managing staff are trained to assess the situation and understand the level of cleaning needed for each situation.

Changing facilities

We ask customers to adopt the ‘beach ready’ approach arriving with your swimwear under your clothing to reduce time in the changing rooms. Hair dryers are not available. We have reduced the number of available cubicles, lockers and showers to aid social distancing and ask that customers shower at home where possible.

Just in time

Last entry to the pool is 30 minutes prior to closing time.

Dress Code

We require all our swimmers to wear costumes, trunks or swim shorts in the pool at all times. Unfortunately shorts below the knee are not permitted in the pool. Snorkels and flippers are not permitted.

Pre-Swim Hygiene

Having a good pre-swim hygiene routine is very important as it keeps the pool clean and safe to use for all our customers. It also means we have to add fewer chemicals to the water which makes the water fresher and more comfortable. Make sure you are doing your bit:

  • Always go to the toilet before swimming
  • Always shower before you enter the pool, this is why our showers are located next to the pool entrances!
  • Take regular bathroom breaks, don't pee in the pool!
